Our Story
The story of Relox Robotics is a roller coaster, with hard work and intense dedication, but always with a passion for technology and a strong urge to have fun at the same time.
When partnering with Range Servant, we could focus even more on developing the technology and product, and got our first customer. Since then, more financing and customers have come, and today, Range Pickers drive around on golf fields in both the Nordics and the US.
By end of 2023 our team had grown to 16 people, in Sweden and the US. Now, the plan is to expand our vertical from golf to other industries needing robotic solutions. Whether it's in the cleaning, farming, or health industries, our main focus is to make a social, sustainable impact on the world – and have fun while doing it.
The initial idea of Range Picker came to Marcus as a teenager on the golfing range, frustrated with the diesel-filled tractor gathering the golf balls, thinking a robot lawn mower could do the job better.
A few years later, the idea came to reality in a mechatronics course at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. With a strong passion and vision, we gained access to knowledge and inspiring people, and started to go crazy on mechatronics.
One day, we drove around in Marcus' dad's car, asking golf clubs if they'd be interested – getting only positive responses. That's when we fully realized the idea could be something more than just a fun project.
“We sat on the floor with our prototype,
soldering and putting it together piece by piece.”
After graduating in 2018, we decided to prioritize our passion over a proper job and gave it a try for six months. Luckily, we got an angel investor and help from a technology hub. While other startups worked on software products within tech and finance, we sat on the floor with our prototype, soldering and putting it together piece by piece.
